I graduated from High Point University in 2006 as a Biology Major. In 2007, after working for a year abroad, I came to Duke University into the Cell and Molecular Biology umbrella program. In 2008 I joined the Laboratory of Dr. David McClay, where we use sea urchin as a model system for embryogenesis. I am interested in tissue specification and patterning and currently investigating the role of Hegehog signaling in these processes.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy motorcycling, surfing and rugby.
