Dr. Sydney Brenner, who pioneered C. elegans research and won the Noble Prize in 2002 considers C. elegans as “Nature’s Gift to Science.” His groundbreaking work of EMS mutagenesis screen on such tiny worms awarded him this Prize. I am now proudly doing the similar EMS screen on C. elegans in Dr. David Sherwood’s Lab. Although I know that there probably is a “super slim” chance for me to get that Prize, I indeed enjoy the fun of doing C. elegans research.
