Megan Ulmer

Hi! My name is Megan and I joined the UPGG in 2009. I grew up in Boone, NC. I did my undergraduate just down the road at NC State University. I got my B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Genetics. After graduating I worked in a DNA sequencing facility at NCSU. I took time off after undergrad to figure out what area of research I wanted to focus on in graduate school. I have since determined I am interested in human genetics and the opportunities for growth and education in this field is what brought me to Duke University.

I also love the Raleigh/Durham area especially because the mountains AND the beach are close enough for a weekend trip. When I'm not working, you can often find me in one of these locations. So, just ask if you need any good weekend trip ideas!
