I'm a second year graduate student in UPGG. I grew up near St. Paul, Minnesota before attending University of Northern Iowa where I majored in biology and chemistry. I played on the UNI women's soccer team, studied abroad in Australia and Belize, and participated in summer research at Kansas State University in an Ecological Genomics lab.
I have been extremely happy with my decision to attend Duke and move to North Carolina. Recently, I joined Beth Sullivan's lab where I am researching a common chromosomal rearrangement in humans as well as the process of centromere inactivation. When I am not in the lab, I try to spend my time running, traveling, or watching movies or sports. Although I remain loyal to my UNI Panthers, it's nearly impossible not to become a Cameron Crazie!
