Jesse Slone

Hi, my name is Jesse Slone. I entered the UPGG program in 2004, shortly after graduating from Ohio State University with a degree in molecular genetics. As a member of Hubert Amrein's lab, I study taste perception in Drosophila, which has turned out to be a surprisingly cool field of research (who would've thought that flies had taste receptors on their feet?). My particular project focuses on a group of taste receptors that are needed for flies to sense sugars and other sweet-tasting compounds.
