I received a B.A. in Math and Biology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduation I worked as an Analytical Chemist for 3.5 years before admitting that I would really like to work in Genetics. I started working at the Duke Center for Human Genetics. Under Simon Gregory, I helped develop a complete human DNA array.
After searching through schools to do my graduate work in, I found Duke and the UPGG program to be the best fit for me. So, I have stayed here to work on my thesis. I have recently joined the Willard Lab and I am working on the choice of X inactivation in mice.
The above picture, I believe, was taken by my friend Sam Adams. I guess I do have to hold my tongue just right to throw the disc well.
