I graduated in 2003 from Stanford University with bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with an area of concentration in genetics. As an undergrad I was interested in learning about the genetics of complex diseases such as asthma and diabetes. I interned at the Harvard School of Public Health, where I worked on the genetics of bronchial hyperresponsiveness in the lab of Dr. Xiping Xu. Later on I became interested in microarrays and the power with which global gene expression, proteomics, and everything in between will allow further elucidation of the physiology and pathophysiology of complex processes.

This is my 4th year at Duke as an MD/PhD student, and it has been a great place where medicine and science collaborate well. I am currently in the lab of Dr. Ashley Chi.
