Originally from Tampa, I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate studies. While pursuing my degree in chemistry, I worked in Peggy Borum’s lab examining the roles of carnitine in metabolism and various disease states. I am currently in Doug Marchuk’s lab. My project centers on using a mouse model to study the molecular genetics of cerebral cavernous malformations (CCM), an autosomal dominant disease that has a lifetime risk of migraines and stroke.
Outside of science, I enjoy exploring what the Triangle has to offer, including the amazing restaurant scene and the Great Outdoors.
