Shannon McDermott

Hi! I previously studied population genetics of Drosophila at Cedar Crest College for undergrad, but decided to rotate through some yeast labs upon arrival at Duke in summer 2007. However, I ultimately ended up working with flies again by joining Mohamed Noor's lab, where I'm studying the genetics of Drosophila speciation. Outside of lab, I enjoy attending concerts, going on road trips home to upstate NY and cheering on the Blue Devils at basketball games!
