Weijuan Li

Hello, my name is Weijuan Li. I grew up in Chongqing, a beautiful city in southwestern China. Then I went to Peking University for my pre-med education and received my M.D. degree from Peking Union Medical College, Tsinghua University. When I was in medical school, I actively participated in several research projects, including genetic mechanism of neurofibromatosis type I and an association study of asthma. Since then, I have become interested in the field of medical genetics and translational research. I am glad with my choice to be here at Duke, especially joining the UPGG (in 2008). Everyone here is very friendly and supportive, and there is a wide range of research areas that provides me with great opportunities to explore any aspect of genetics and enrich my experience. Currently, I am rotating with Simon Gregory and working on a genomic convergence project of coronary artery disease. I hope I can be a physician-scientist in the future.
