I am interested in studying the regulation of transcription throughout the cell cycle. It has recently been shown that cell cycle regulated transcription can occur independently of CDKs, the prevailing model of cell cycle control. I am currently working on observing expression dynamics in cells arrested at the DNA replication checkpoint in S. cerevisiae. I am also currently working on observing global transcription dynamics in D. melanogaster to see if regulation of transcription in metazoans is similar to yeast.
