Kristin Bompiani

Hi everyone! My name is Kristin and I'm a graduate student in the UPGG program. I'm originally from Harrisonburg, VA and earned my B. S. in Biochemistry and Biology from Virginia Tech (go Hokies!). While at Tech my undergraduate research focused on the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum – specifically degradation of the host red blood cell. I came to Duke in '07 hoping to get involved in the variety of human genetics research available.

When not slaving away in the lab I enjoy kayaking, watching movies and following pro football (I'm a diehard Steelers fan).
