Charlene Blake

Hello everyone! My name is Charlene Blake, and I’m originally from Harrisburg, PA, but moved to Topeka, KS right before beginning high school. I attended a year and a half at the University of Kansas before transferring to Fisk University, a small school in Nashville, TN that is rich in history and heritage. After graduating from Fisk, I immediately began medical school (here at Duke) in the Medical Scientist Training Program. I am very happy to be back at the bench, though a part of me will always be at the bedside. I will never be ‘just a physician’, nor will I ever be ‘solely a scientist’… I will be a physician scientist, working to bring my research to practical use in medicine.
